WoW: World of Workato
Marketing Design Assistant
June 2025 - December 2025
Tokyo, Japan
Overview
I decided to take on a unique experience, to live in a different country and explore what design looks like in a different culture. As a designer who designs for others, I took on this opportunity to be able to see the world through a different lens, different from the one I am used to in hopes to help me better understand user needs.
From working on various projects, working with multiple teams, and living in a different country, Workato and the last 6 months has helped me grow as a designer, a team member, and as an individual.
*Due to many of my designs involving internal information, partnering company logos, and such, I am not able to display all of my designs here. If you would like to know more about my designs, please reach out and I would love to chat more!
Purpose
I was tasked to 3 main responsibilities during these 6 months: creating and maintaining all information regarding the WoW Tokyo conference, taking over and growing the WoW Campaign, and any design requests from Japan team. Working with both the Japan team, the APJ design team, and also the US team, I worked on many different design projects to better showcase Workato for our target audience.
WoW Tokyo 2025 Conference
Workato's biggest conference of the year to showcase the newest updates and news of their product.
WoW Campaign
An interactive campaign for users to better understand the Workato culture and community.
Event Designs
As Workato Japan participates in many tech-events, different booth design and printables were assigned.
WoW Tokyo Conference | What is it?
WoW Tokyo is an event held annually by all Workato region. It's a time to showcase, celebrate, and connect Workato with it's community. WoW Tokyo is a 2-day event with a packed agenda with sessions hosted by Workato and other partnering companies.
As the Marketing Design Assistant, I was in-charge of creating, maintaining, and promoting the event itself. I took over managing the page designs, uploading speaker information, and updating the agenda as session information became confirmed. Additionally, I worked on the main stage presentation slides and also the Swag booth.
WoW Campaign | Purpose
The WOW campaign existed as an experiment. “How would our target audience engage with such experimental and unique experience?” That was the question we wanted to answer.
The campaign included quests that users who joined the campaign would complete to earn points. The goal was 500 points to enter the grand prize raffle. We wanted the campaign to showcase the Workato culture and environment, not just an AI/tech company, rather a colorful and exciting community to be a part of.
This run at the WOW campaign was the first ever in Workato history, and was only conducted in Japan. After completing a full cycle of this campaign, there were a lot of learning points to better improve in the future!
WoW Campaign | Execution
The WoW Campaign was a portal that campaigners would use to complete quests and earn points. With these points their goal was to get to 500 points for to enter our grand raffle for a chance to win an all paid trip to WoW Las Vegas 2026 (our biggest WoW event world-wide). Quests ranged from daily "where is WorCatO" quests to quests that engaged in our resources (training courses, documentations, and more). By having a wide range of quests type, campaigners are able to have an experience tailored towards their desire while still all engaging in the Workato community.
Event / Other Designs | Execution

Prior to WoW Tokyo 2025, Workato Japan participated in various events hosted by other companies as a partnering company. This required for our team to prepare and design the booth, handouts, and any prizes that help elevate the experience of the potential users that had stopped by our booths. As the design intern, I spent most of my time creating social media posts to promote events, new blogs released, and also engage with our community to excite them.
With every event we are met with different customers, my goal was to tailor all of the designs to their needs and current environment while ultimately still having the same goal of "why you should attend WoW Tokyo 2025". Where I was designing a flyer, an event banner, or a booth wallpaper, I wanted all of it to capture and share the vibrance and innovative spirit Workato had.
Reflection
First and foremost, I want to say thank you to this wonderful team. For 6-months, I was able to live out this dream of mine to live and work in my home country, while also pursuing my passion of design. Although I worked directly in the marketing team, you have allowed me to work on UX design, website design, and graphic design. While implementing skills from my prior experiences, you allowed me to develop new skills as well and I will forever be grateful for that. You helped me grow in ways I would never been able to with just projects. You let me make mistakes and learn and improve upon them, and I am thankful that you gave me this independence.
